Data Sources
Every specification and price shown on LatestPrice.net comes from a traceable source. This page describes the categories of sources we use and the order in which we trust them.
Source Hierarchy
When sources disagree, we follow a fixed hierarchy: official brand publications rank first, then regulatory filings, then verified retailer listings. A claim only reaches a phone page once it is supported by at least one primary source or two independent secondary signals.
Source Categories
- Official brand publications. Manufacturer spec sheets, launch press releases, support pages, and official online stores. These are the primary source for specifications and launch pricing.
- Retailer and marketplace listings. Verified listings from established online retailers in each covered market. Prices are captured with timestamped snapshots and normalized to a common currency.
- Regulatory and certification filings. Filing databases such as regulatory certifiers and telecom authorities, used to confirm model numbers, variants, and network band support ahead of launch.
- Market and supply-chain signals. Reputable market research summaries and channel signals, used only to corroborate availability and pricing shifts, never as a sole source for specs.
What We Do Not Use
Anonymous forum claims, unverified social media posts, and manufacturer marketing superlatives (such as "all-day battery" or "pro-grade camera") are not treated as data. We publish measurable values instead, such as battery capacity in mAh and aperture in f-stops.
